Jimmy Casas’s passion for teaching coupled with his vision for community leadership generates positive school cultures amid high standards for the students and staff he engages. He was named Iowa Secondary Principal of the Year, 2012, was selected as one of three finalists for NASSP National Secondary Principal of the Year, 2013, and received the Bammy Educators Voice Award as the Secondary School Principal of the Year, 2013. Jimmy co-founded EdCampIowa and #IAedchat, both organizations seek to highlight and discuss topics and issues around today’s education landscape. Jimmy received his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Iowa, and his Master in Administrative Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. His latest book is “What Connected Educators Do Differently,” co-authored a with Todd Whitaker and Jeff Zoul.
